Microsoft no longer supports frontpage

FrontPage feedback forms that send you mail or save data in files should continue to work, because we will add a custom script to your site that attempts to mimic the old FrontPage behavior. However, you should test these forms fully to make sure they work and contact us if you have any trouble.

FrontPage guestbook pages and search boxes will no longer work and should be removed. I like to use Visual Web Developer but wonder now what do I do? I hope not The guy at Network Solutions suggested I use Dreamweaver and I laughed and don't want to change or use anything else except Microsoft products.

What are my options to edit live and connect to websites with no Frontpage extensions? Is Network Solutions nuts? I see a lot of new Windows servers out there advertising with Frontpage extensions on them for new hosting. Network Solutions no longer offers Frontpage Extensions or at least that's the error I get when trying to connect and same API and I can't easily manage files, connect quickly and work on websites easily like when the server had Frontpage extensions.

This article does not live up to the excellent customer service InMotion has always provided. It is condescending, dismissive, and completely ill informed.

The programs are nothing alike. To recommend text editors as other reasonable alternatives is laughable. FrontPage is extremely simple and user friendly, plainly designed for very basic use.

The last version, , while imperfect, does not have near the level of coding issues that previous versions had.

There is, frankly, no reasonable replacement. Many of us are using our sites for education or other non-profit activities, not commerce. Instead, what InMotion should be doing is encouraging its customers to use the software they want for the purposes they want via FTP and be grateful for the business. We are not dictating what you MUST use. We are trying to provide workable alternatives. There are also online alternatives like WordPress which are free and do not require to be loaded directly on your computer.

The decision on the tool that you use to create your web site is yours alone. We are fortunate and grateful for the many customers who use our service.

As standards change and things progress we are trying to provide useful information that can help people find a possible solution to their hosting and website needs. Microsoft really sucks. They get you hooked on their costly software for years then bail on on you. That is our Microsoft. Motto: count on us and we will screw you.

Lots of options out there. MS Expression web is fully standard compliant and free but has a big learning curve. Serif webplus used to have a free version and it works more like a DTP. Wordpress is a very popular alternative. I suggest you start research alternatives. What will the effect be of shutting down servers with Frontpage Extensions on websites constructed with MS Frontpage?
